2D radiaton study in Syrthes

Hello,

I am trying to use syrthes for a 2D study. Unfortunaltely, I couldn’t find a way to set-up a 1D mesh in order to use the thermal radiation module.

Is-it possible to use 2d model or I should absolutely create a 3 D model?

Is it possible to have a very simple example only in 2D?

Best regards

Hello,

The example which is included with code_saturne, and described in the Syrthes tutorial on this web site is a 2D case.

There might be issues based on the mesh format, but I am not too sure about that.

Yvan

Dear Yvan,

Do your mean the tutorial with 3disk? This in 3D and 2D for the faces radiation.

My main geometry is in 2D, so the radiation simulation should be on the edge. It’s mean 1D dimension. Do you know where I can find a tutoriel for that?

Regarding the Med format, I fix it by using Salome 6.4.0.

Best regards

Hello,

No, I am not sure. I had forgotten the disks tutorial only has convection.

Yvan

I am sorry, I didn’t get your answer.

So, do you have an example? Such as one for solar modelling?

I need to understand how to use 1D meshes.

Best regards

Hello,

No, I do not have an example. Sorry.

Best regards,

Yvan
