deviated velocity profile

Hello everyone,

I want to impose an experimental velocity profile at the Inlet, But this profile is not normal to the inlet (it is deviatedfrom 15 ° to the normal axis) so I don’t know how to impose this profile ,

the profile of normal velocity is: U= (1.23Y^3+4Y^2-2.13*Y+2), but i want imposed this profile deviated from 15° to nomal axis

IS that it is sufficient to multiply this profile by “sin(15°)”

Thanks for help

Hello,

No, multiplying it will no be enough. For a given face, the velocity inlet boundary condition is a vector, not a scalar. It does not need to be normal to the mesh boundary, so you can simply prescribe the correct vector field.

Thank you Yvan for your answer,

The problem that I don’t know how to define this inclined fields of velocity, I have a table of expérimentale velocity versus the “y” axis, and I know that this profile is deviated

Do you have an idea Yvan please?
