LES with a wall-function

Dear forum,

I’m running a LES.

I read from https://www.code-saturne.org/cms/sites/default/files/file_attach/BPG/BPG-3-Cell-Size-At-The-Wall.pdf in the last paragraph that “This is the reason why Code_Saturne activates a wall-function by default for LES. If the mesh is fine enough, its influence vanishes and the LES becomes a direct numerical simulation.”

Is there any way to check whether or not my LES simulation has activated the wall function by default? My mesh has a y+ lower than one, x+ and z+ low than 40 and 20, respectively.

Hi Xiaoxue,

As far as I know, it can be found in the setup.log file, shown below. I think in Code_Saturne LES, the one scale log-law wall function is used by default. I suppose your meshes are fine enough, so the momentum wall function and thermal wall function are the viscous sublayer ones.
